Arrival at the Leh Kushok Bakula Airport (experience one of the most sensational flights in the world). On a clear day during the flight, you will see in the distance the peaks of K2, Nanga Parbat & Gasherbrum on one side and on the other side of the aircraft is the Nun Kun Massif. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by a Triyana host, who will assist you with transfers to the hotel, check-ins, etc. You will be served welcome drinks, and then the complete first day will be for your resting and leisure at the hotel itself. This is done to help you acclimatise faster to Ladakh’s high altitude!
Have breakfast and early checkout from the hotel to begin the road trip towards Leh. Drive upstream along the River Indus on the Kargil – Leh highway. Witness the famous Confluence of Two Rivers – Indus River coming from Tibet (left) and Zanskar River coming from Zanskar Valley (right). A bit further is the Magnetic Hill which defies the laws of gravity. Then, continue the drive upwards and Visit Gurudwara Patthar Sahib and Hall of Fame (museum constructed by the India Army). Reach the hotel at Alchi Monastery, Ladakh’s oldest and most loved monastery. and end the day with an early dinner at the hotel.
Have a good breakfast start the sightseeing with the Alchi Monastery, Ladakh’s oldest and most loved monastery. Then, enroute visit the Likir Gompa situated atop a windy cliff overlooking the beautiful village of Likir Situated to the west of the town of Leh. Built by Translator, Rinchen Zangpo, it dates back to the year 1000 AD.
Alchi Gompa in Ladakh comprises of a number of blessed temples, including the main one of Rinchen Lhakhang at Lotsa Lhakhang. The other temples are the Jamyang Lhakhang (Manjusri temple) and the Sumtsag Lhakhang. Alchi Monastery of Leh Ladakh reflects an Indian touch, especially in its paintings. End the day with a warm dinner under the moon.

Visit Shanti Stupa (a tourist attraction not only due to its religious significance but also due to its location which provides panoramic views of the surrounding landscape). After an early breakfast, leave for the breathtakingly beautiful terrains that lead to the mesmerising Pangong Lake. This one is mostly used by tourist interested to reach Nubra Valley from Pangong. For rest of the route beyond Shakti towards Chang La – Pangong Tso, it is the same route that is coming from Leh.
Drive through the famous Changla Pass situated at an altitude of 5486 metres. Stop at the Changla Pass for a quick photography session and drive down to the village of Tangtse, where you can stop for a warm & relaxing cup of tea. Leaving Tangtse for Pangong, you pass through a few small villages of Changthang and a lovely terrain. Then, through the winding and scenic route, finally you get the first few glimpses of the beautiful Pangong Lake, which is situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 metres) above the sea level. This famous blue brackish lake of Pangong is 5/6 kms wide and over 133 kms long, with half of it running on the other side of the “Indo-China Border”. One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable. After the success of the movie, 3 Idiots, this beautiful natural location has attracted more tourists from all over the world. Upon arrival, we check-in at our camp near the Pangong lake, which is cosy and extremely comfortable. Experience the lake front, the blue & clear waters, the magical sunset and the glaciers visible on the mountains which surround the entire lake on all sides. End the day with a warm dinner and night stay in the camps on the banks of the lake.
Early morning, experience the beautiful sunrise at the lake front and spend time to explore the beauty of the lake and mountain ranges surrounding it. Have breakfast at the camp, click lots of photographs and do leisure walks around the breathtakingly beautiful lakeside. By noon we head back to Leh. On way, we stop at the Hemis Gompa, which is the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism. Post the monastery tour, check-in at the hotel for an early dinner at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will be accompanied by a guide who will take you from the hotel to Leh Palace. The guided tour begins from the Leh Palace, Ladakh Arts and Media Organization, and ends at Central Asian Museum. After the walking tour, the guide will accompany you to the main market from where you will be taken to Stok village for an authentic Ladakhi lunch. Post lunch, visit the 200-year-old Ladakhi house and get an insight on how the local people lived in the olden days.
In the afternoon, proceed to experience the grandeur of Thiksey Monastery. It is an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village. You can choose to have dinner either in the marketplace at a reputed restaurant or at the hotel.
